We had reported earlier that the formal adoption of Thipilisseri village near Akkikavu for the Arogyamythri Project of IMA Kunnamkulam was declared on 19th December, 2014 by the State Secretary Dr. A.V. Jayakrishnan at a function held at IMA House, Kanippayyur, Kunnamkulam in association with a seminar organised by IMA Kunnamkulam in cooperation with the Kunnamkulam Press Club. A formal adoption document was handed over by the State Secretary to the representative from the village, Shri Premadasan.
The formal inauguration of the interventional health programmes of IMA Kunnamkulam at the adopted village Thipilisseri was held on 18th January, 2015 at the community hall of the village. The program was inaugurated by Shri Babu M. Palisseri, MLA of Kunnamkulam. The President Dr. Koshy George T. presided over the function and delivered the presidential address after a welcome speech by the village representative Mr. Premadasan.
Our First Interventional Health Programme – detection of thyroid dysfunction, conducted by the IMA AMS Chapter of Kunnamkulam was inaugurated by Dr. Hareendhranathan A.M, District representative of Arogya mythri project of IMA KSB in Thrissur District, in the presence of Dr. C.P. Tomy branch representative of IMA AMS Chapter. He explained the aims of Arogya mythri project and wished all success to the programme . We took blood samples for TSH , which will be done at free of cost and results of blood test will be made available after four days after which initiation of treatment will commence for those who need it.
Our Second Interventional Health Programme – detection of anaemia, conducted by the Womens’ Wing of IMA Kunnamkulam was inaugurated by the ward member Mr. K Vishwambharan, in the presence of Dr. R. Padmasini, Chairperson of the Womens’ Wing. We tested Hb levels for 75 people and those who were found anaemic, free medicines were issued.
Dr C.P.Tomy and Dr. Saju P K were in charge of the supervision of the camps. .
Our third programme was release of a leaflet on thyroid dysfunction prepared by IMA AMS for Women’s Wing of IMA Kunnamkulam. Dr.R Padmasini , the president of Women’s Wing of IMA Kunnamkulam released the leaflet by handing over a copy to the village representative Mr. Premdas . The distribution of the leaflet is being done by the Womens’ Wing.
