This is a special report on the World Health Day Programme organised jointly by the Food Policy and Safety Committee and Arogya Jalakam Committee of IMA Kunnamkulam.
On 7th April , a public programme was organised jointly by the Food Policy and Safety Committee and Arogya Jalakam committee of IMA Kunnamkulam in connection with World Health Day with the participation of the hotel and restaurant association of Kunnamkulam as well as the Health Department of Pazhanji, at Al Zaki Restaurant conference hall, Perumpilavu .
The meeting was presided over by Dr Koshy George.T, the President of IMA Kunnamkulam . During his presidential address he stressed the importance of safe food habits and the need for educating the food handlers, like workers in the hotels and restaurants.
This was followed by the release of the IMA food policy document by Mr. Gireesh Kumar Perumpilavu, president of the Kunnamkulam Press Club. During his speech, he congratulated IMA Kunnamkulam in conducting these classes for hotel employees.
A class on safe methods in food handling was taken by Mr. Anilkumar , Health supervisor of CHC pazhanji and a class on rules and regulations to be followed by hotel and restaurants was taken by Mr. Manoj , Health Inspector of Kandanissery Panchayath .
68 representatives from various hotels in Kunnamkulam took part in the programme.
Senior Vice president of IMA Kunnamkulam Dr Paul C Raphael , IMA Kunnamkulam Charity Wing Chairman Dr P A Mohammed Nissar , President of Hotel and Restaurant Association Mr. Khalid and IMA Kunnamkulam Secretary Dr. SajuĀ P K also spoke on the occasion .
