IMA KUNNAMKULAM TAKES PART IN CHENNAI RELIEF WORK
This is a Special Report on the Relief Work done by IMA Kunnamkulam at Cuddalore, Chenna
In response to the disaster caused by floods in Chennai, IMA Kunnamkulam decided that it was necessary as a part of our social obligation that we should send a team for relief work. Shanti Hospital Punnayurkulam volunteered to join hands with IMA Kunnamkulam and it was decided to rope in the Punnayurkulam Panchayat also.
IMA Kunnamkulam in association with Santhi Nursing Home,Punnayurkulam, with the whole-hearted support of the people of Punnayurkulam, conducted a mega medical camp in the villages of Cudallore district of flood affected Chennai on Saturday, 12 th December, 2015.
The team from IMA Kunnamkulam comprising of the secretary Dr Shaji P.S, the joint secretary Dr K.R. Mukesh, Action Committee member Dr Sugadoss and three paramedics from Santhi Nursing Home were flagged off at a public function held at Punnayurkulam junction by the Panchayat President Mr. A.D. Dhaneef and IMA Kunnamkulam president, Dr. C.P. Ravunnikkutty. Block Panchayat president Mr. A. Moosa, Merchants’ Association president Mr. Lukose Thalakkottoor and Addl. SI Mr. T.D. Jose spoke on the occasion. The team members were honoured with adorning of traditional Ponnadas.
The team held medical camps at Cuddalore for the Krishnan Kuppam village, Pantutty village and Kurinchipady village. About 1000 patients were examined and medicines worth about Rs 1,00,000, and dress materials worth 50000 were distributed
