In connection with WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY,IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA conducted a program at adopted IMMNUEL LP SCHOOL,Chittanjoor on 3rd June.School Headmistress Mrs.Sony teacher welcomed the audience. Dr.Ravunnikutty inaugurated the program. gave the WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY message. Dr.Devadas,Dr.Geetha Devi,Dr.Paul Raphel spoke to the children. IMA donated Waste Baskets and Tree saplings to the school. Mrs.Mini Raphel of WIMA Kunnamkulam proposed the vote of thanks.

IMA Kunnamkulam ACT FORCE conducted a First Aid Class and BLS Workshop for the volunteers of ACCIDENT CARE & TRANSPORT SERVICE(ACTS) of Thrissur District , during their working committee meeting held at Kecheri, on 5th June . ACTS district Secretary Mr.Jisson Choondal welcomed the audience. IMA Kunnamkulam Act Force Chairman Dr.Ajith T. took the class and led the BLS workshop. An ECG work shop will be conducted on 26^th  June in connection with DTF. Committee decided to invite state/zonal leaders for the meeting.

It was decided to conduct a One Day Tour in the month of July.

In connection with TRAFFIC AWARENESS MONTH, IMA Kunnamkulam and Kunnamkulam sub Division of Police conducted public awareness program and BLS Workshop .DYSP Mr.Famous Varghese inaugurated the program. C I of Police Mr.Johnson,Dr.Ravunnikutty and Dr.Ajith spoke on the occasion. Dr.Ajith conducted BLS class for the public on the occasion.

June 12^th

IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA conducted monthly ELDERLY CARE program Snehapoorvam VAYOJANANGALKKAYI at the adopted village. Dr.Ravunnikutty,                                     Dr.Geetha Devi,Dr.SHAJI.P.S. conducted the camp and free medicines were given to the patients.

June 14^th  (General Body Meeting and CME)

Meeting was called to order at 8.20 pm by President. Flag salutation was done by Secretary.

President welcomed all members to the meeting. He detailed all the programs conducted. He urged the participation of all the members for the ECG work shop to be conducted on 26^th June. He reminded all the members about the Doctors Day to be celebrated on July 1^st  .

Ethical pearls for the month of June was discussed.

Guest speaker Dr.Rajeev,prof of cardiology AIMS Cochin,was introduced by Dr.Akhil .

Dr.Rajeev spoke on the Topic: Understanding Heart Failure in a better way. This was followed by interactive session. Dr.Varghese Paul presented memento to Dr.Rajeev.

Dr.SHAJI.P.S. conducted X Ray Quiz about Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. Prize was won by Dr.RAJESH Krishnan,Dr.Sajan Thottan .

In connection with World Blood Donation Day

President appreciated Dr.Sujay for his achievement for maximum number of Blood Donation for the last year.

WIMA launched Haritha Project by supplying vegetable seeds to all the members. WIMA secretary donated tree saplings to the IMA.

President requested all members to pay the working fund at the earliest.

As part of Arogyajalakam Project IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA  Kunnamkulam conducted a program with a class on rainy season diseases at Omkaram Kalasamithi Hall KattakampalPanchayat President Sadanandan Master inaugurated the function Dr Ravunnikutty,  Dr Geetha Devi , Ward member Sheeja Sudeep spoke on the occasion. Dr.C.P. Tomy explained about rainy season diseases. Dr.Shaji.P.S. gave a talk on Abuse of the Elderly in connection with World Elders Abuse Day.  A pamphlet on rainy season diseases prepared by Dr.Saju.P.K, mid zone convenor of Arogyajalakom was released by Panchayat President and distributed to the audience

AMS Chapter of IMA KUNNAMKULAM in association with DTF Thrissur conducted INTERACTIVE ECG COURSE on 26 th June at IMA House .

Course Convener gave a brief introduction to the course .IMA KSB past president Dr Devadas inaugurated the program .

Celebrated doctor’s day with family at IMA House.

Meeting started at 8.15 pm with a prayer by Dr.Mallika Harikrishnan.

President welcomed the Chief Guest of the day Father.Pathrose, Principal St. John’s Bethany HS School Kunnamkulam, and all the members and their families. He also welcomed all the invited guests of Indian Dental Association,Rotary Club, Lion’s Club ,Press Club and Comates Circle of Kunnamkulam.

President spoke about Dr.B.C.Roy and Doctor’s Day .

Chief Guest Father Pathrose inaugurated the function . In his inaugural address he stressed the importance of human values and contribution of doctors to the society.

Dr.Koshy George has given the Doctor’s Day Message.

Felicitations were done by invited guests of Rotary,Lions,IDA,Press,and Comates club of Kunnamkulam.

Senior doctors of IMA who turned into their sixties were honoured. Dr.Madhusudhan and Dr. Ashok Varma were honoured.

Students of 10^th  and 12^th  from IMA Family who scored high in their examinations were honoured.

Patient Care Fund certificates were distributed to those members who contributed.

Quarterly Edition of Pulse was released by Editor Dr.Saju P.K. by handing over a copy of it to the Chief Guest.

There was an exhibition of Wild life photographs taken by the Chief Guest at the hall.

Memento was given to chief guest by President Dr.Ravunnikutty as a token of Appreciation.

May 18^th World Schizophrenia Week Programs at AIPMAR, Perumpilav

World schizophrenia week celebrations of IMA Kunnamkulam, was inaugurated by the president of IMA Kunnamkulam Dr C P Ravunnikutty @ Ansar Institute of Psychiatric Medicine And Rehabilitation(AIPMAR), Perumpilav. In connection with World Schizophrenia Awareness Day IMA KUNNAMKULAM and WIMA conducted an Health Education  class on Schizophrenia and other mental disorders at YMCA hall, Kattakampal. Dr.Ravunnikutty inaugurated the program.

Meeting was called to order after collaring by the secretary at 8.30 pm. Silent prayer was followed by Flag salutation by the Secretary. President welcomed all the members and Guests from Madhyakerala Branch Officials to the Meeting.He detailed all the programs conducted by IMA and WIMA .He introduced the Speaker of the day Dr Tomy to the audience.

Dr.Tomy had given a excellent lecture on Life Style Diseases which was followed by interactive session. Dr.Devadas presented memento to the Speaker.

Dr. Saju conducted the Xray Quiz which was a case of misplaced Ryles tube.Dr.Koshy George and Dr.Nissar won the prizes.Dr.Saju announced the results of Photo Quiz which was won by Dr.Koshy George and Dr. Cyriac George.

Ethical Pearls for this month was projected.

Grievance Redreesal Forum was inaugurated during the meeting.Panchayath president Mr Satheesan declared the forum Inaugurated after lighting the lamp. Dr. Devadas and Dr. N. D. Varghese are the members of the forum.

Dr. A.V. Babu of the Madhya Kerala branch detailed the up coming state conference at Aluva.He also detailed the Aluva Villa project of IMA KSB.Treasrer Dr Shameer Sulaiman expressed vote of thanks.

President welcomed the Chief Guest Dr.Varghese Jaison and all members to the meeting .He detailed all the programs conducted this month and future programs .

Dr.Sundaresh Kumar introduced the guest speaker and was invited for the talk. Guest Speaker Dr.Varghese Jaison spoke on Recent Trends in GERD which was followed by active discussion.

IMA Kunnamkulam , today conducted a Nurses’ Training Program for the nursing staff of Ansar Hospital, Perumpilavu. The program was inaugurated by the president Dr.C.P.Ravunnikutty. The training program on Tips for NICU and Maternity ward , was led by Dr.Saju.P.K, Pediatrician, Ansar Hospital.

April 30^th

A workshop on cerebral palsy conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam in association with IAP Developmental division and THFI at Arthat, Kunnamkulam. Dr. C. P. Ravunnikutty inaugurated the function. Dr.Koshy George, consultant orthopaedic surgeon led the workshop with a Health Education Class on cerebral palsy. Dr. K. Jacob Roy, Senior consultant paediatrician spoke on early diagnosis. Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists also took sessions in the workshop.

International Women’s Day celebrations conducted at IMA House.  Meeting started with prayer by Dr. Smitha followed by flag salutation by Dr.Geethadevi, welcome address by Dr.Padmasini, Presidential address by Dr.C P Ravunnikutty.  Next was inaugural ceremony by State WIMA Chairperson Dr.Anupama. This was followed by the Honouring of Chief Guest Mrs.Sheeba Ameer,Founder Secretay ,SOLACE, Centre for care and support for children with chronic illness.  The launching of WIMA state project was done by Mrs.Sheeba Ameer.  WIMA donated Rs. 5000 to the organisation SOLACE. Release of CD on Life style Diseases was done by Dr. Prithi Nair, Dt Rep Arogya Mythri.  Realese of WIMA news letter – Inner Voice was done by Dr.Sheela Sivan, State WIMA Secretary.  Awards were given to the main office bearers of WIMA of last year. Felicitations done by Dr.Shaji and Vote of thanks by Dr.Geethadevi. This was followed by the scientific session.  Dr. Ambujam,Additional Professor of Gynaecology GMC, conducted CME classes on Menopause and PCOD.  CME on Superficial Fungal Infections conducted by Dr.Abel Francis, Associate professor of Dermatology  AIMS,Thrissur. Talk on women empowerment was conducted by Mrs.Sheeba Ameer.  Meeting concluded with National Anthem. There were stalls for the sale of Tupperware, Dress materials and Haritha products.

March 1^st – Executive meeting

After silent prayer and one minute silence to mourn the death of our member Dr.A.V. Sidharthan and Mr. Panakkal Kochu father of Dr.Priya Santhosh, the President detailed about SWC meeting recently held at Mavelikkara. Dr.Saju received President’s appreciation award for the secretary of best branch from IPP IMA KSB Dr. Sreejith.N.Kumar.

Dr.Saju detailed the progress of Ansar Hospital attack . Culprits were arrested. It was decided to lodge complaints in such attacks in compliance with the Hospital Protection Act and should request the police to book the culprits under this act.

Dr.Geetha Devi, Secretary Women s Wing detailed the arrangements for the Women s day program to be held on March 6^th.

Dr. Saju requested all the members to register in to IMA Connect and to conduct a class how to log into IMA connect by Dr.Ajith.

It was decided to put extra speaker and light on the stage of IMA hall.

President requested the members to attend North Zone AMS conference at Tirur.

Executive committee congratulated Dr.Ditto for successful completion of Mutual Benefit Scheme.

Next CME date was announced as March 29^th .

March 5^th -Traffic awareness class at Punnayurkulam

IMA Kunnamkulam in Association with police department of Chavakkad circle conducted a Traffic Awareness Class at Santhi Nursing Home, Punnayurkulam.

The program was inaugurated by Mr.Johnson, CI of Police.

Dr.K.R.Mukesh gave introductory remarks about the over speed of ambulances

March 6^th –Women’s day celebrations and state launch of WIMA Projects

In connection with International Women’s Day, the Womens Wing of IMA Kunnamkulam (WIMA) honoured Mrs Sheeba Ameer, chairperson SOLACE for her Humanitarian work

Program was inaugarated by the state WIMA chairperson Dr Anupama

In this function state level launching of WIMA project was done by chief guest Smt Sheeba Ameer

Release of CD about prevention of lifestyle diseases prepared by WIMA KUNNAMKULAM was done by Dr Preethi Nair ( Dist representative Aarogya Mythri)

 

Mrs Sheeba Ameer spoke about women empowerment.

This was followed by scientific session where Dr Ambujam Dr Nishi Roshni and Dr Abel Francis took classes.

IMA Kunnamkulam conducted a medical camp and distribution of free drugs to the elderly people of the adopted ward at Pazhanji.(Snehapoorvam Vayojanangalkku).

Monthly medical camp at IMA house. Dr Joshy Thomas and Dr Hari (ENT surgeon) examined the patients. Free Blood Sugar estimation and free drug distribution was done.

 

March 23^rd –World TB Day Program 

IMA Kunnamkulam and WIMA in association with  Taluk Hospital Kunnamkulam observed World TB Day. Past IMA state president Dr K V Devadas inaugarated the Program.

Report of IMA Kunnamkulam –

February 2016 2nd February:Executive Committee Meeting Meeting started after silent prayer at 8.30pm .President welcomed all members. Discussion done about up coming state IMA events. It was decided to attend all three programs at IMA House Cochin. It was decided to conduct Literary club inaugaration along with reception to state leaders on 21st Feb. Next CME will be on 16 th Feb. Inaugaration of Citizens Advisory Panel will be on the same day . It was decided to conduct Aarogyamythri program on 14 th Feb at Kattakampal. Both school adoption and Ward adoption will be on same day . DrSaju detailed the progress of Ansar Hospital Attack case. It was decided to go ahead with the case without any compromise talks. All such attacks should be reported to IMA in future. 4th February World Cancer Day Activities. IMA Kunnamkulam in association with Punnayurkulam Grama Panchayath and PHC Andathod conducted a campaign against cancer. Cancer Awareness Rally At 10 am a rally was conducted, starting from Santhi Nursing Home with a school Band team . IMA President Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty and Dr Rajesh Krishnan, Medical Superintendent of Shanthi Nursing Home flagged off the rally.

Public Meeting At 10.30 pm the official function was inaugurated by Panchayath President Sri Dhaneep.

Awareness Classes Dr Rajesh Krishnan, Dr Mukesh K.R, Dr Shaji P.S., Dr Sreekala Rajesh took awareness classes.

Distribution of Booklets Booklets prepared by IMA Kunnamkulam about Breast and Cervical Cancer was distributed to the public .

7 th FEB : Cancer Care Program and IMA Connect Training at Cochin Attended Cancer care TOT program at IMA House, Cochin. Dr C.P. Ravunnikutty, Dr Geetha Devi, Dr Saju P.K., DrMukesh K.R and Dr Shaji P.S attended. Participated in IMA connect program also.

Feb 12th: Cancer Care Program and National Deworming Day Program at Punnayurkulam Conducted cancer awareness program for PTA of Government UP School Cherayi, Punnayurkulam. Awareness Classes Dr Shaji P.S took cancer awareness class.. Dr K R Mukesh gave a talk on Behavioural Formation and Heathy Life style for Children

National Deworming Day Program As a part of National Deworming Program, IMA Kunnamkulam distributed Albendazole tablets to the students.

Feb 14th: Arogyamythri and Elderly Care Program at Pazhanji On February 14th , a function was organized by Kunnamkulam IMA and Womens wing of IMA at Palakkal Hall, Pazhanji as part of Arogyamythri and Elderly Care streams of IMA. Mr. Manikandan, Panchayath member presided over the function. Sri C P John, Member, Planning Board of Kerala inaugarated the program. Dr Preethi Nair (Dist representative AarogyaMythri, IMA), Dr Joju Thomson (Chairman Elderly Care IMA Kerala state), Dr Santhosh Babu (chairman DTF, Thrissur IMA), Dr C.P. Ravunnikutty, IMA President, Dr K.V. Devadas, Dr Koshy George, Dr Saju P.K, Dr Shaji P.S, Dr Rajesh Krishnan, Mr KM Gafoor Haji (pain and palliative president) spoke on the occasion.

Village and School adoption Programs of Arogyamythri Kunnamkulam IMA and Womens wing of IMA adopted ward no 3 Kariyampra of Kattakampal Panchayath in a function organised at Palakkal Hall Pazhanji. This is one of the community service program of IMA called AarogyaMythri. IMA Kunnamkulam also adopted Emmanual L P school Chittanjoor during the function.

Elderly Care Camp of IMA Kuanamkulam This includes monthly check up and distribution of medicines for elderly people (VayojanangalkkuoruKaithangu) and general camp for others every four months.

Medical Camp This was followed by a medical check up and free distribution of medicines.

14 th February Dr Ajith chairman BLS took training class for Indian Dental Association KUNNAMKULAM branch on CPR,BLS and IV cannulation.

Feb 16 th 2016: CME and inauguration of Citizens’ Advisory Panel in Thrissur DTF and IMA Kunnamkulam 5th CME and 6th General Body meeting was held at IMA House. President detailed all the programs done last month. Dr Arthur Joseph Aashirvadam was the Guest Speaker .He has delivered an excellent session on Cardiac Safety Trials of Sitagliptin .This was followed by interactive session. Dr Devadas presented a Memento to Guest Speaker. DrSaju announced the winners of Picture quiz . Dr Shameer and Dr Ajith won the prizes. 25 members registered for the upcoming north zone AMS at Tirur

Distict level inaugration of Citizens Advisory Panel Inaugural function of Citizens’ Advisory Panel in Thrissur District and IMA Kunnamkulam was held at IMA House Kanippayyur Dt. K. V. Devadas, past president of IMA KSB inaugurated the CAP of IMA Kunnamkulam with Mr. BabuPalissery, MLA, Mrs. SeethaRavindran, Municipal Chairperson, Mr. Famous Varghese, DySP and Mr. E. Raghunandanan, Secretary Haemophilia Society as members. IMA Kunnamkulam president Dr. Ravunnikutty, DTF Chairman Dr. SantoshBabu, CAP Convenor Dr. Koshy George, GRF Chairman Dr. K. Mohanan, CAP district representative Dr. Mithunrosh, CAP members and spoke on the occasion. Secretary delivered vote of thanks.

Feb 17 th 2016: Newspaper ‘Open Page’ publishes a full page article on IMA Kunnamkulam People-friendly IMA was the heading of the article published.

Reception to State President and State Office Bearers A special general body meeting was convened for the Reception of IMA emboldening movement team led by state president by IMA Kunnamkulam along with Thrissur DTF. Dr Koshy George was the master of ceremonies. Meeting started at 7pm after collaring of the President by the secretary followed by a silent prayer. Flag salutation was done by secretary. President Dr Ravunnikutty welcomed the Emboldening Movement Team. They were given a warm welcome State president Dr A V Jayakrishnan, State Secretary Dr Samuel Koshy , IPP Dr Sreejith N Kumar and all the members of the team spoke about the yathra and its aims.

Literary Club District level inaugaration of Literary club of IMA was done by Dr A V Jayakrishnan. Literary cub chairman Dr Harikrishnan’s maiden venture Nyle Vazhikal was officially released for IMA members by handing over a copy of it to Dr A V Jayakrishnan by Dr Sreejith N Kumar. Dr Babu gave an introduction to the book. Later Dr Harikrishnan was honoured by Dr A V Jayakrishnan and Dr Sreejith N Kumar. Dr Harikrishnan in his acceptance speech spoke about future plans of IMA Literary club which included quarterly release of Literary Magazine and a Library. Dr Bhavan Sankar DTF coordinator expressed vote of thanks. Meeting was concluded at 8.30pm after National Anthem

Feb 24 th: Basic Life Support Training. Kunnamkulam IMA in association with Thrissur DTF conducted Basic Life Support Training and First Aid Training for employees of Power Grid Corporation Thrissur. Dr Ajith T.,chairman, Act Force of IMA Kunnamkulam took the training class.

Feb 24 th: Health Education Class at Mazhuvancherry Dr K R Mukesh conducted health education class on ‘Adolescent Problems’ for students of BharathiyaVidyaVihar High School Mazhuvanchery ,KecheryThrissur.

Feb 25th : Condolence Meeting We lost our beloved senior member Dr A V Sidharthan of Erumappetty. Condolence meeting was held at IMA House at 8 pm. President Dr Ravunnikutty, Dr Devadas, Dr Jose Varghese, Dr Nileena Koshy, Dr ND Varghese, Dr Shaji P.S, Dr Joshy Thomas and Dr Paul C Raphel spoke on the occasion. Later the House passed a Resolution condoling the death of Dr A V Sidharthan .

Feb 27 th : IMA participates in formation of ACTS ( Accident Care and Transport Services) Kunnamkulam IMA Kunnamkulam participated in the Inaugural function and rally in connection with the formation of new branch of ACTS at Kunnamkulam

Feb 28 th : Anaemia Detection Camp and Health Education Classes at Kanippayyur Anaemia Detection Camp IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA conducted Anemia detection camp at Kanippayyur.

Health Education Classes DrJoshy Thomas took class about Anaemia. Dr Geetha Devi took Cancer Awareness Class .

Feb 28 th :Monthly Free Medical Camp at IMA House, Kanippayyur Monthly medical camp and free distribution of Medicines were given.DrJoshyThomas,DrJiju Baby and DrRajagopal participated in the camp.

February 28th : SWC Meeting at Mavelikkara Attended SWC meeting at Mavelikkara.Seven members attended the meeting. Dr Saju P.K received Appreciation award from Past President for being the secretary of the best local branch 2014/15.
