At Panchayath level Dr Geetha Devi participated the program conducted at Chirakkal IHDP colony.

In connection with community service day observation IMA KUNNAMKULAM in association with Viswas Computers donated UPS  and Batteries worth 30000 to Computer Lab of Blind School KUNNAMKULAM.This program was presided by Smt Nisha Jayesh ward counsillar and inaugarated by Smt Misha Sebastian chairperson standing Committee Education Muncipality.Ima president Dr Ravunnikutty,secretary Dr SHAJI,past president Dr Koshy George, Past secretary Dr Saju ,Mr Shinoy of Viswas Computers and Head Master Mr Abdul Hakkeem spoke on the occasion.

December 1^st

10 am : World Aids Day Program at Govt. Taluk Hospital, Kunnamkulam

IMA Kunnamkulam observed World Aids Day in association with Govt. Taluk Hospital, Kunnamkulam with various functions. Official functions were inaugurated by IMA President Dr C. P. Ravunnikutty. Dr Taj Paul Panakkal, Superintendent of Taluk Hospital presided over  the function. A pledge was taken in order to eradicate AIDS and to support the Aids victims.This was followed by a rally in Kunnamkulam Town with participation of the NSS unit of Government Boys High School.

3.15 pm: World Aids Day Program at GGHSS, Kunnamkulam

A School Awareness Program was conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA Kunnamkulam at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kunnamkulam. Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty, President of IMA Kunnamkulam inaugarated the function. Dr. Geetha Devi, secretary of WIMA spoke on the occasion. Dr Shaji P.S. took a Health Education Class about HIV and AIDS .

Executive Committee Meeting

Conducted monthly executive committee meeting on December 1^st, 2015. President detailed the programs conducted including the Aids day program conducted on the same day. It was decided to conduct CME on 15^th December about AIDS : recent trends and post exposure prophylaxis. X mas /New Year Celebrations will be on 31^st  December 2015

 

 December 4^th   : World Aids Day Program at Shathi Hospital, Punnayurkulam

In connection with world aids day activities, Dr. Shaji conducted a training program for para medical staff of Shanthi Hospital about post exposure prophylaxis for HIV and Hepatitis B infections. Dr Rajesh Krishnan took class about HIV and Hepatitis.

December 4^th : Basic Life Support Workshop

Dr Ajith , Chairman, Life Support and Training conducted a work shop on Basic Life Support at the South Zone Diabetic Centre on 4^th December, 2015 for patients and relatives. Dr Ravunnikutty,President IMA Kunnamkulam inaugurated the program. This is an ongoing project of IMA Kunnamkulam.

 

Anganvadi program on 8/12/2015

IMA Kunnamkulam (Arogyajalakam committee) conducted Health Education Class by Dr.Geetha Devi and Medical check up camp for the Anganwadi Children by Dr.Saju.P.K. Panchayath President, Ward members, Anganvadi teachers and Anganvadi welfare committee members attended the program.

 December 9^th : World Aids Day Program at MOSCMM Hospital, Aduppootty

IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA Kunnamkulam conducted a Nurses Training Program for Staff and Nursing Students of Malankara Mission Hospital

Dr Rini Sujay took class about risk reduction strategies in HIV.

An awareness class was conducted by Dr Geetha Devi about Human Rights.

IMA KUNNAMKULAM TAKES PART IN CHENNAI RELIEF WORK

 

In response to the disaster caused by floods in Chennai, IMA Kunnamkulam decided that it was necessary as a part of our social obligation that we should send a team for relief work. Shanti Hospital Punnayurkulam volunteered to join hands with IMA Kunnamkulam and it was decided to rope in the Punnayurkulam Panchayat also.

IMA Kunnamkulam in association with Santhi Nursing Home,Punnayurkulam, with the whole-hearted support of the people of Punnayurkulam, conducted a mega medical camp in the villages of Cudallore district of flood affected Chennai on Saturday, 12^th  December, 2015.

The team from IMA Kunnamkulam comprising of the secretary Dr Shaji P.S, the joint secretary Dr K.R. Mukesh, Action Committee member Dr Sugadoss and three paramedics from Santhi Nursing Home were flagged off at a public function held at Punnayurkulam junction by the Panchayat President Mr. A.D. Dhaneef and IMA Kunnamkulam president, Dr. C.P. Ravunnikkutty. Block Panchayat president Mr. A. Moosa, Merchants’ Association president Mr. Lukose Thalakkottoor and Addl. SI Mr. T.D. Jose spoke on the occasion. The team members were honoured with adorning of traditional Ponnadas.

The team held medical camps at Cuddalore for the Krishnan Kuppam village, Pantutty village and Kurinchipady village. About 1000 patients were examined and medicines worth about Rs 1,00,000, and dress materials worth 50000 were distributed

December 15^th  

Monthly General Body Meeting and CME was conducted at IMA House.

Dr Ajith Kumar Dean KUHAS was the Speaker .He has given an excellent lecture on Recent Trends in HIV and post exposure prophylaxis.This was followed by interactive session.

AMS Xray Quiz was conducted by Dr Tomy.

President congratulated the National award winners Dr Koshy George and Dr Saju for their achievements.They brought 4 awards to Kunnamkulam IMA at National Level:Best Local Branch,Best President,Best Secretary,Appreciation Award For AMS.

 

President congratulated the Chennai Relief Team of IMA Kunnamkulam for their dedicated work. Dr Mukesh captain of the team detailed about the camp.

 

IMA Kunnamkulam donated drugs collected from members and hospitals to Hemophilia society  Kunnamkulam chapter to be used for Chennai flood affected population. Past IMA State  President Dr K.V. Devadas handed over the drug kit to Sri Reghunandanan, President of Hemophilia society.

December 16^th  : Nurses Training Programat Shanthi Hospital, Punnayurkulam

Conducted Nurses Training Program about Neonatal Injections by Dr Mukesh, Joint Secretary IMA Kunnamkulam. He also took class about Safe Injection Practices in general.This program was conducted at Santhi Nursing Home,Punnayurkulam.

 

December 20^th

President Dr. C. P. Ravunnikutty and Secretary Dr. Shaji P.S. attended Presidents and Secretaries training program at Ima House Thiruvanandapuram.Dr Ninan Kuthur senior member also attended the meeting.

 

 

On 20^th December 2015 : Our immediate past secretary Dr.Saju.P.K, was awarded the  Chairman’s  Appreciation Award , during the National AMSCON  2015 Conference  held Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

December 27^th  : Monthly medical camp

Monthly medical camp was conducted at IMA house. Charity Wing Chairman Dr Joshy Thomas headed the camp along with Dr Sameer Sulaiman, Treasurer

On 27^th and 28^th December 2015 : NATCON 2015

5 members from IMA Kunnamkulam attended NATCON 2015 , the Annual  National IMA Conference held at Le Meridian Hotel ,New Delhi. Kunnamkulam IMA President Dr.C.P.Ravunnikutty, Secretary Dr.Shaji.P.S, Immediate Past President Dr.Koshy George, Immediate Past secretary Dr.Saju.P.K and Past President IMA KSB, Dr.K.V.Devadas attended the meeting.

During the conference IMA Kunnamukulam bagged the following awards which were given away by the National President Dr.A.Marthanda Pillai and  the drug controller of India Dr.G.N.Singh.

The awards are

1. N.S.Chandra Bose Award ,the most prestigious rotating trophy for the best local branch in medium segment , at national level.

 

2. The Award for best adjudged President of a local branch ,at national level was awarded to  our immediate past president Dr.Koshy George T.
3. The Award for best adjudged Secretay of a local branch , at national level was awarded to our immediate past secretary Dr.Saju.P.K.
4. President’s special appreciation Award  to Dr.K.V.Devadas , for his dedicated service as secretary of National Pension Scheme.

December 28^th : Kunnamkulam Town Development Seminar

Dr Ravunnikutty president attended Kunnamkulam Town Development Seminar hosted by Mathrubhumi Daily.He promised support from IMA Kunnamkulam in any Health Related issues and requested the authorities to take necessary steps to remove unwanted holdings and flex bills

which are interfering the drivers. This seminar was attended by various representatives from all fields and prominent figures of Kunnamkulam like Mr V K Sreeraman and Sri Kanippayyur Namboothiri.

Christmas /New year Celebrations on New Year Eve celebrated in grand style at IMA House.

 

Reception to National Award Winners

After the official formalities, a warm reception was given to National Award winners of IMA Kunnamkulam. Mementos were presented to Dr Koshy George, Dr Saju and Shameer Sulaiman by the President. Felicitation was done by Senior Member Dr Paul C Raphel. President congratulated Dr.Devadas (Past State President) for getting appreciation award from National IMA President.

Official release of PULSE our quarterly Bulletin was done by senior Physician Dr Jose .He accepted the copy from the Editor Dr Saju.

Christmas message was given by Dr Cheriyan Joseph.

This was followed by variety entertainments by the members and their families.

A Rally for Aids Awareness at Edakkazhiyur was conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam in association with RP Health Mission and SSM VHSS. Dr Abdul Hakkeem took a Health Education Class on the occasion about the role of the community in support of Aids victims.
