IMA Kunnamkulam branch selected by the IMA Awards committee as ‘The Best IMA local branch’ under Membership Development Award for the year 2014-15. The ‘Dr. N S Chandrabose Rotating Trophy’ will be awarded to our branch during IMA NATCON- 2015 on 28 December 2015 at Hotel Le Meridien, NewDelhi

 

Dr. Saju P. K has been selected for IMA AMS National Chairman’s Appreciation Award which will be awarded to Dr. Saju at the National AMS Conference on 19th December at Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Hearty congratulations to Dr. Saju.

 

November 14^th : World Diabetes Day Observation 

Dr.Ravunnikutty IMA President, inaugarated the World Diabetes Day functions organized by IMA Kunnamkulam at South Zone Diabetic Centre Kunnamkulam. Secretary Dr.Shaji.P.S felicitated . WIMA Chair Person Dr. R. Padmasini and Secretary  Dr. Geetha Devi R were present on the occasion. Dr.Shameer C. Sulaiman, Diabetologist took a class about Diabetes and its complications.

 

Free blood sugar estimation was done at various points in the Kunnamkulam town.

A Walk for Diabetes was conducted to promote Diabetic awareness among public in the evening on the same day.This was flagged off by President Dr.C.P. Ravunnikutty.

November 3^rd

Second executive committee meeting was held at IMA House, Kanippayyur. Planning for participating in the upcoming state conference was done. Programs for November were detailed by the President Dr.C.P. Ravunnikutty.

A briefing for the members about the planned IMA ‘Sathyagraha’ was done by past IMA Kerala State President Dr.K. V. Devadas.

 

November 6^th,7^th,8^th.

Annual State Conference -Teak Medcon at Nilambur. 20 members from IMA Kunnamkulam attended the conference. We were proud to bring back Dr.S.S.Rao Shield for the Best Local Branch in Kerala State back to our branch.

November 17^th

Monthly CME was conducted at IMA House, Kanippayyur. Dr.Reghunath, Nephrologist, Amala Medical College spoke about Diabetic Kidney Disease.

Following the CME, a warm reception to state award winners Dr. Koshy George T., Dr. Saju P.K. , Dr. Shameer C. Sulaiman and team was given by IMA Kunnamkulam. Special Awards of the Branch were handed over to them by previous SS Rao awardees (2002) Dr. O.J. John, Dr. Paul C. Raphel and Dr. P.J. Joseph respectively.

Booklets for public about Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus,Thyroid Diseases,                     Breast Cancer prepared for IMA Kunnamkulam by Dr.Rajesh Krishnan,Dr.Joshy Thomas,DrAsokVarma,DrSheela respectively were released by the authors by handing over the copies to the President Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty.

November 18^th.

In connection with World Diabetes Day IMA KUNNAMKULAM in association with RPeesCure and Pharmacy conducted diabetes awareness class and free blood sugar screening at Edakkazhiyur Government UP school.Dr.AbdulHakkeem conducted the class .

22nd November

IMA Kunnamkulam and WIMA Kunnamkulam in association with YMCA Kattakampal conducted medical camp for Hypertension,Diabetes ,Thyroid Diseases and Breast Disorders.

YMCA president given the welcome address. IMA president Dr.Ravunnikutty inaugurated the Camp. WIMA Secretary Dr. Geetha Devi co-ordinated the whole program.

WIMA under the leadership of Dr.Sheela, Surgeon conducted Breast Cancer detection camp and Dr. Sheela took an awareness class about Breast Cancer.

Dr.AsokVarma took class about Thyroid Disorders.

Dr. Rajesh Krishnan took class about Hypertension.

DrShaji.P.S took class about Diabetes.

Booklets about Hypertension,Diabetes,Thyroid Disorders and Breast Cancer published by IMA Kunnamkulam were distributed to the patients. Patients were examined by respective specialists.

Blood Sugar  estimation and TFT were done free of cost for the patients. Free Medicines including Anti Diabetic,Anti Hypertensive and Thyroxine Tablets were issued to the patients.

 

November 28th 

As a part of ongoing project of took Kunnamkulam IMA, a Basic Life Support Workshop was conducted at Thrissur in association with Thrissur DTF for KSEB workers at District Hospital Thrissur. Dr.Ajith.T , Chairman, Website Committee and Life Support and Training Committee conducted the program.

November 29 th 

Sahayahastham Monthly Free Medical Camp at IMA House. Charity wing Chairman Dr.Joshy Thomas distributed Health Record Books to each patient who is regularly attending the camp for Life Style Diseases. Dr.Mohan Thomas,Dr.Ajith and Dr.Joshy Thomas examined patients.
