Report of IMA Kunnamkulam – January 2016
January 2nd – Hospital Attack on Ansar Hospital, Perumpilav
On 2nd January, 2016, an accident victim who was brought to Ansar Hospital had to be referred to a higher centre because he needed a CT scan. When the RMO informed this to the relatives, the relatives became violent and attacked the RMO saying that he was shirking away from his responsibility and they destroyed various items in the casualty during the assault.
Dr. Saju P.K, Secretary of the Action Committee of IMA Kunnamkulam took immediate action and held talks with the hospital authorities regarding further action. The police were informed and they promised to take immediate action.
January 3rd – Team from IMA Kunnamkulam attend Book Release of our member
On January 3rd a team from IMA Kunnamkulam led by the President Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty and Secretary Dr. Shaji P.S attended a function held at Sahitya Academy Hall during which “ Nile Vazhikal”, a book written by our member Dr. Harikrishnan K.B was officially released
January 5th – Emergency Protest Meeeting
An emergency protest meeting was held at IMA House, Kanippayyur against Ansar Hospital Attack because of the delay in police action. The president explained the details regarding the incident to the members. Various senior members spoke condemning the hospital attack.It was decided to give direct complaint to DYSP of Kunnamkulam on behalf of IMA.
January 5th – Executive Committee Meeeting
Conducted Executive Committee Meeting on 5th.
President congratulated Dr. Harikrishnan K.B for his book on his experiences in a tour of Egypt which was recently released at an august function held at Sahithya Academy Hall, Thrissur which was attended by many of our members.
President congratulated the organizers of Xmas New Year celebrations for their excellent show.
Decisions were taken regading programmes for the month.
January 8th –Ansar Hospital honours our IMA National Award Winners
On January 8th, Ansar Hospital Perumpilav honoured our National Award winners Dr. Koshy George T and Dr. Saju P.K. at a function held at Ansar Hospital Conference Hall.
January 9th – Dr. Mukesh K.R becomes Secretary of IAP Thrissur
Dr. Mukesh K.R was elected as Secretary of IAP Thrissur for 2016.
January 15th – Community Service Day – Donation of UPS to Govt. Blind School Computer Lab
IMA Kunnamkulam observed Community Service Day by giving a UPS and Batteries worth Rs.30000 to the computer lab of Govt. Blind School Kunnamkulam . Municipal Ward Councilor Nisha Jayesh presided the function. Smt. Misha Sebastian Standing Committee Chairman education handed over the UPS to School Head Master. IMA President Dr.Ravunnikutty, Secretay Dr.Shaji.P.S, past president Dr.Koshy George and Dr.Saju spoke on the occasion.
January 15th – Palliative Care Day – Rally at GVHSS, Kunnamkulam
IMA Kunnamkulam and WIMA Kunnamkulam in association with Taluk Hospital,Kunnamkulam observed Palliative Care Day .
Organized a Rally by NSS volunteers of GVHSS, Kunnamkulam in the town .Muncipal Chair Person flagged off the Rally. IMA president Dr.Ravunnikutty,Women’ s wing Secretary and Dr. Taj Paul Panakkal, Superintendent of Govt. Taluq Hospital, Kunnamkulam spoke on the occasion.
January 17th – Arogyajalakam Program at IHDP Colony, Chirakkal
IMA and WIMA Kunnamkulam along with Kattakampal Grama Panchayath conducted an Arogyajalakam Program at IHDP colony Chirakkal on 17th of January, 2016. The program was inaugurated by Chirakkal Panchayath President Shri.Sadanandan Master. The meeting was chaired by Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty, President of IMA Kunnamkulam. Felicitations were offered by ward members. MLA of Kunnamkulam Shri. Babu.M.Palissery visited the camp and congratulated the organizers for the excellent initiative.

- Health education class on Early Detection of Cervical Cancer by Dr.Geetha Devi R.
- General health check up with distribution of free medicines and
- Cervical cancer detection by pap smear for women

January 17th – Pulse Polio Programs conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam.
IMA Kunnamkulam participated in the pulse polio program on 17th January, 2016.

During the formal Inaugural Function of Pulse Polio Immunization in Kunnamkulam held at Govt. Taluk Hospital Kunnamkulam, Dr. Ravunnikutty, President of IMA Kunnamkulam IMA AMS Secretary Dr.Rajesh P. and Taluk Hospital Supt. Dr. Taj Paul Panakkal outlined the program charted out for effective implementation of the Pulse Polio Program in the municipality and surrounding Panchayaths.

IMA Secretary Dr .Shaji.P.S. and Joint Secretary Dr. K.R. Mukesh participated at the inaugural function of pulse polio at Punnayurkulam panchayat where the Panchayath President Mr. Dhaneep inaugarated the program.

Dr. Ravunnikutty, President of IMA Kunnamkulam, IMA Secretary Dr .Shaji.P.S. and WIMA Secretary Dr. Geetha Devi R participated at the inaugural function of pulse polio at Chirakkal panchayat where the Panchayath President Mr. Sadanandan Master inaugarated the program.
January 19th – CME
5th General Body meeting and 4th CME was conducted. DTF Chairman Dr Santhosh Babu attended the meeting as a special guest. President congratulated Dr. Harikrishnan for being appointed as the Joint Secretary of Literary Wing of IMA State Branch. He also congratulated Dr. Varghese Paul for being appointed as the Dist. Representative Public Health Assurance Committee of IMA, KSB.
President detailed all the programs done till date. He urged the members to attend the Antibiotic Symposium.
Dr. Reghunath, Neurologist was the guest speaker. He had given an Informative Lecture on PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY which was followed by interactive session
Dr. Tomy conducted the Xray Quiz which was a case of Pulmonary Hypoplasia.
Dr. Saju announced the result of Photo Quiz. The answer was Sir. Sidny Alfred Smith, Forensic Pathiologist. Winners were given prizes.
Distributed Copies of Ethics Pearl Documents to the members as advised by the State Committee.
Dr. Santhosh Babu, Chairman Thrissur DTF was a special invitee and he addressed the members regarding the programmes of the DTF.
January 20th – Blood Donation Camp at GHSS, Kunnamkulam
IMA,Kunnamkulam and NSS unit of Govt. HSS, Kunnamkulam conducted blood donation camp at Boys High School. S I of police Mr. Farshad inaugarated the function.President Dr. Ravunnikutty conducted awareness class about Blood Donation. Municipal council members Smt. Misha Sebastian and Nisha attended the function.
January 20th –BLS Workshop for KSEB Employees
IMA Kunnamkulam and Thrissur DTF conducted basic life support and first aid training to Kerala State Electricity Board employees of Viyyur Sub Station. Dr. Ajith.T took the training session. This is an ongoing project of IMA Kunnamkulam.

Attended DTF meeting at Thrissur.10 members attended the meeting. Dr. Gopikumar made a power point presentation about DTF. National award winners Dr.Koshy George T and Dr.Saju P. K were felicitated by the DTF committee.
January 31st – Leprosy Awareness Program
In connection with World Leprosy Day conducted a dermatology camp at IMA House.Dr Annie Babu consultant Dermatologist examined patients.Dr Shaji PS and Dr Geetha Devi took awareness classes about Leprosy. Distributed leaflets about leprosy.
January 31st –Monthly Medical Camp at IMA House
Monthly medical camp and free distribution of medicines done. Dr Joshy Thomas led the camp. Dr. Mohammed Nissar and Dr. Mukesh participated .
January 31st – Workshop on Gynaecological Disorders by WIMA
WIMA Kunnamkulam in association with Grihalakshmi Vedi Kunnamkulam unit conducted work shop on Gynecological disorders and cancers on 31st January at IMA House.
Dr. Sreekala, Dr. Devika and Dr. Geetha Devi conducted the classes. This was followed by interactive session.

CONCISE ANNUAL REPORT OF IMA KUNNAMKULAM FOR THE YEAR 2014-2015
(MODIFIED AFTER STATE AND ANNUAL CONFERENCES AND AWARDS RECEIVED)
On 03.10.2014, a new team of office bearers for IMA Kunnamkulam with Dr. Koshy George T. as President, Dr. P.K. Saju as Secretary and Dr. Shameer C. Sulaiman as Treasurer were installed by Immediate Past President of IMA KSB Dr. K.V. Devadas. The Women’s Wing office bearers were Dr. R. Padmasini as Chairperson, Dr. Rini Ravindran as Secretary, Mrs. Mini Paul as Coordinator and Dr. Smitha K.S. as Treasurer. A short synopsis of the activities of IMA Kunnamkulam during the year 2014-15 is given below:
On 19.12.2014 a seminar was organized in association with the Press Club of Kunnamkulam on ‘The Role of the Press in the Present Health Scenario of Kerala’ which was inaugurated by Dr. A.V. Jayakrishnan, State Secretary of IMA Kerala. During this function, IMA Kunnamkulam adopted Thippilissery village, Akkikavu and Emmanuel LP School, Chittanjur for the Health Care programs under the Arogyamythri Project during the year.
On 22.02.2015, a reception was accorded to the state office bearers accompanying Jwala, the membership rally of IMA KSB which visited the branch. Dr. Sreejith N. Kumar, State President, Dr. A.V. Jayakrishnan, State Secretary, Dr. P.K. Mohammed Rasheed, Dr. K.V. Devadas, Dr. Abraham Varghese, Dr. P. Gopikumar, Dr. Jain Chimmen and Dr. Santhosh Babu as well as office bearers of neighbouring branches of Thrissur, Thalappilly and Guruvayur attended. The new Computerised Office of IMA Kunnamkulam was inaugurated by the State President Dr. Sreejith N. Kumar.
On 08.03.2015, IMA and WIMA Kunnamkulam hosted the International Women’s Day Program of WIMA KSB at IMA House, Kanippayyur. WIMA State Chairperson Dr. Beena K.V. honoured renowned social worker and kidney donor Mrs. Uma Preman. Women’s Day message was given by Dr. P.N. Ajitha, past Chairperson of WIMA KSB. State launch of the Sowhrudha Project of WIMA for Anaemia was done by Dr. K.V. Beena and the State Launch of Women’s Health Committee of IMA was done by Dr. Abraham Varghese, Mid Zone Vice President of IMA KSB during this function. There were 3 CME sessions and two talks on Women Empowerment and Communication Skills.
On 03.05.2015, IMA Kunnamkulam hosted the Mid Zone Conference of IMA AMS Kerala State. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Abraham Varghese. There were 9 CME sessions . 670 delegates registered for the conference. Dr. Shaji P.S. was Chairman and Dr. Rajesh Krishnan was Secretary of the Organising Committee. 37 new life members were added to IMA AMS by IMA Kunnamkulam during the conference.
On 01.07.2015, Doctors’ Day was celebrated with Mr. T.K. Anirudhan, First Class Judicial Magistrate of Kunnamkulam as Chief Guest. Dr. K.C. Jaiboi, Dr. R. Padmasini, Dr. Thilagavathy Ammaiyar and Dr. A.V. Sankaranarayanan were honoured. Patient Care Fund of IMA KSB was launched in Kunnamkulam and the State launch of National Pension Scheme was done by National Scheme Secretary Dr. K.V. Devadas.
On 26.07. 2015, IMA Kunnamkulam hosted the Annual State Conference of IMA CGP Kerala State. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Sreejith N. Kumar, President of IMA KSB. There were 6 CME sessions and 2 workshops on Medical Ethics and Criminal Negligence. Dr. Geetha Devi R. was Chairperson and Dr. Taj Paul Panakkal was Secretary of the Organising Committee. The State Launch of Beta version of IMA KSB website was done by the state president during this function.
On 26.07. 2015 a reception to state office bearers was given to Dr. Sreejith N. Kumar and his team. Dr. A.V. Jayakrishnan, State Secretary, Dr. Uma Mohandas, Dr. Abraham Varghese and Dr. V.G. Seethi and Dr. M, Bhaskaran, Past National Vice Presidents, Dr. K. Jayaram, Dr. P.K. Mohammed Rasheed, Dr. Alex Franklin, Dr. Srikumar Vasudevan and Dr. K.V. Devadas, Past State Presidents and State office bearers Dr. Samuel Koshy, Dr. K.P. Balakrishnan, Dr. K.G. Pai, Dr. K.V. Prabhakaran and Dr. M.N. Menon were honoured,
On 05.09. 2015, IMA Kunnamkulam hosted the State Onam Celebrations of Neelambari, the Cultural Wing of IMA KSB and Thrissur DTF. The function was inaugurated by Padmasri Dr. A. Marthanda Pillai, National President of IMA. Renowned Chenda Artist and Liver transplant recipient Mr. Mohanan Marar was honoured under the Kalakaranoru Kaithangu Project of Neelambari.
On 05.09. 2015, a reception to National and State office bearers was given to Padmasri Dr. A. Marthanda Pillai, National President of IMA and Dr. Alex Franklin, Secretary of National Health Scheme, Dr. Abraham Varghese , Vice President of IMA KSB, Dr. P. Gopikumar, Joint Secretary IMA KSB, Dr. Jain Chimmen, Chairman Thrissur DTF , Dr. V. C. Velayudhan Pillai, Past National President, Dr. P.K. Mohammed Rasheed, Dr. R.V. Asokan, Dr. G. Vijayakumar and Dr. K.V. Devadas, Past State Presidents and Dr. Jose Ukken, Chairman of Neelambari. A reception was accorded to the Nammude Arogyam float ,which was touring Kerala, at IMA House, Kanippayyur on the same day.
During the year various programmes under all the projects of IMA KSB including Arogyamythri ( 8 interventional health care programs conducted in adopted village Thippilissery and adopted school Emmanuel LP School, Chittanjur), Arogyajalakam, Grameen Arogya Padhadi, Citizens’ Advisory Panel (with MP, Municipal Chairman, DySP and BJP Secretary as members), Grievance Redressal Forum ( in which Mr. V.K. Sriraman was a member in addition to IMA officials ), National Initiative for Safe Sound (NISS), Citizens’ Health Empowerment Campaign Kerala, Pain and Palliative, Elderly Care, Women’s Health, Child Care, Tb Care, Differently Abled, Food Safety, Communication Skills, Ethics, Organ Donation, Blood Donation, WIMA and Life Support and Training were organized by the branch.
A new website ‘www,imakunnamkulam.in’ was launched, all members were registered under IMA Connect, Monthly newsletter PULSE of IMA and Quarterly news bulletin INNER VOICE of WIMA were revived, Monthly Xray Quizzes, Photo Quizzes, Journal Clubs and Cases Presentations became part of the monthly CMEs. WIMA and Cultural Wing organized 4 cultural programs. A Shuttle Badminton Tournament was organized by the Sports Club in addition to taking part in the Walk for Diabetes on World Diabetes Day and the Run Kerala Run program organized in association with the National Games.
50 IMA members became Life members of Accident Care and Transport Services (ACTS), Kechery. Donations during the year included Rs. 51,500/- was donated to ACTS, Rs. 115125/- to Patient Care Fund of IMA KSB ( Golden Care Donor ) and Rs. 50000/- by WIMA to PCF ( Silver Care Donor ), Rs. 10,000/- for Kalakaranoru Kaithangu project of Neelambari, various small donations to old age homes and orphanages and a gift of a water purifier to Mary Matha Boys’ Cottage, Akkikavu.
Air conditioning of IMA House including the Executive Room and its foyer was done during the year and on 22.04.2015 the formal switch on function of the Air conditioner was done by the president Dr. Koshy George T. Renovation work and painting of the hall, dining hall and compound wall was completed by the end of April. A new set of microphones was purchased for the hall.
18 new members were added to the branch bringing the branch strength to 252, 53 new members to WIMA, 63 to Social Security Schemes, 24 to Professional Protection Scheme, 37 to Health Scheme, 1 to Pension scheme and 4 to National Pension Scheme.
There were 24 General Body Meetings, 7 Family meetings, 20 Executive Committee Meetings, 51 CME sessions, 7 State functions, 1 Zonal function, 2 Family Heart Care programs with DTF, 2 conferences, 3 receptions to State office bearers and 1 reception to National office bearers.

During the year IMA Kunnamkulam conducted 23 Special Training programs for medical and paramedical staff, 17 First Aid Classes, 5 BLS workshops for Public, 2 ALS workshops for Hospital Staff under Life Support and Training Chairman Dr. Ajith T., 42 Health Education Classes, 7 programs under Monsoon Diseases Awareness project, 11 programs under WIMA Aduppootty project, 10 programs under Child Care Project at Mary Matha Boys Cottage, Akkikavu, 29 Medical Camps and 12 Sahayahastham Monthly medical camps under the Charity Wing Chairman Dr. P.A. Mohammed Nissar and regular Pain and Palliative clinics at Taluq Hospital under Dr. K.V. Devadas and Dr. Unnikrishnan T. Almost all IMA activities were reported by major Malayalam dailies and CCTV channel and there were 124 news reports in Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhoomi and Madhyamam alone during the year.

In addition to regular CMEs, Xray quizzes, Case presentations, Journal clubs ECG quizzes in conferencesand monthly photo quizzes in newsletters, other activities for members included a shuttle badminton tournament, a pookkalam competition for hospitals for Onam and BMD and Thyroid checkups for members
The association started the year with an opening balance of Rs. 2,63,614.99. Total income during the year was Rs. 36,95,028.11. Total expenditure was Rs. 29,93,020.97. Closing Balance is Rs. 9,65,622.14.
During the course of the year, IMA Kunnamkulam received the following awards:

AROGYAJALAKAM PROJECT- SPECIAL REPORT
Special Report on Arogyajalakam Program conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam and WIMA Kunnamkulam in association with Kattakampal grama Panchayath at IHDP colony Chirakkal on 17.1.2016
IMA and WIMA Kunnamkulam along with Kattakampal grama Panchayath conducted an Arogyajalakam Program at IHDP colony Chirakkal on 17th of January, 2016. The program was inaugurated by Chirakkal panchayat president Shri. Sadanandan Master. The meeting was chaired by Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty, President of IMA Kunnamkulam. Felicitations were offered by ward members. MLA of Kunnamkulam Shri Babu M Palissery visited the camp and congratulated the organizers for the excellent initiative.
The following programs were conducted after the official inauguration:

PULSE POLIO PROGRAMS- A SPECIAL REPORT
Participated at pulse polio program function at Taluk Hospital KUNNAMKULAM. President Dr. Ravunnikutty and AMS Secretary Dr.Rajesh P. and Taluk Hospital Supt. Dr. Taj Paul attended inaugural function at Taluk Hospital KUNNAMKULAM.
IMA Secretary Dr .SHAJI.P.S. and Joint Secretary Dr. K.R. Mukesh participated at the inaugural function of pulse polio at Punnayurkulam along with Santhi Nursing Home. Panchayath President Mr. Dhaneep inaugarated the program.
At Panchayath level Dr Geetha Devi participated the program conducted at Chirakkal IHDP colony.
COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY PROGRAM- SPECIAL REPORT
In connection with community service day observation IMA KUNNAMKULAM in association with Viswas Computers donated UPS and Batteries worth 30000 to Computer Lab of Blind School KUNNAMKULAM.This program was presided by Smt Nisha Jayesh ward counsillar and inaugarated by Smt Misha Sebastian chairperson standing Committee Education Muncipality.Ima president Dr Ravunnikutty,secretary Dr SHAJI,past president Dr Koshy George, Past secretary Dr Saju ,Mr Shinoy of Viswas Computers and Head Master Mr Abdul Hakkeem spoke on the occasion.

World AIDS Day Activity Report
December 1st
10 am : World Aids Day Program at Govt. Taluk Hospital, Kunnamkulam
IMA Kunnamkulam observed World Aids Day in association with Govt. Taluk Hospital, Kunnamkulam with various functions. Official functions were inaugurated by IMA President Dr C. P. Ravunnikutty. Dr Taj Paul Panakkal, Superintendent of Taluk Hospital presided over the function. A pledge was taken in order to eradicate AIDS and to support the Aids victims.This was followed by a rally in Kunnamkulam Town with participation of the NSS unit of Government Boys High School.

3.15 pm: World Aids Day Program at GGHSS, Kunnamkulam
A School Awareness Program was conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA Kunnamkulam at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kunnamkulam. Dr. C.P. Ravunnikutty, President of IMA Kunnamkulam inaugarated the function. Dr. Geetha Devi, secretary of WIMA spoke on the occasion. Dr Shaji P.S. took a Health Education Class about HIV and AIDS .
Executive Committee Meeting
Conducted monthly executive committee meeting on December 1st, 2015. President detailed the programs conducted including the Aids day program conducted on the same day. It was decided to conduct CME on 15th December about AIDS : recent trends and post exposure prophylaxis. X mas /New Year Celebrations will be on 31st December 2015
December 4th : World Aids Day Program at Shathi Hospital, Punnayurkulam
In connection with world aids day activities, Dr. Shaji conducted a training program for para medical staff of Shanthi Hospital about post exposure prophylaxis for HIV and Hepatitis B infections. Dr Rajesh Krishnan took class about HIV and Hepatitis.
December 4th : Basic Life Support Workshop
Dr Ajith , Chairman, Life Support and Training conducted a work shop on Basic Life Support at the South Zone Diabetic Centre on 4th December, 2015 for patients and relatives. Dr Ravunnikutty,President IMA Kunnamkulam inaugurated the program. This is an ongoing project of IMA Kunnamkulam.
Anganvadi program on 8/12/2015
IMA Kunnamkulam (Arogyajalakam committee) conducted Health Education Class by Dr.Geetha Devi and Medical check up camp for the Anganwadi Children by Dr.Saju.P.K. Panchayath President, Ward members, Anganvadi teachers and Anganvadi welfare committee members attended the program.
December 9th : World Aids Day Program at MOSCMM Hospital, Aduppootty
IMA Kunnamkulam in association with WIMA Kunnamkulam conducted a Nurses Training Program for Staff and Nursing Students of Malankara Mission Hospital
Dr Rini Sujay took class about risk reduction strategies in HIV.
An awareness class was conducted by Dr Geetha Devi about Human Rights.
IMA KUNNAMKULAM TAKES PART IN CHENNAI RELIEF WORK
In response to the disaster caused by floods in Chennai, IMA Kunnamkulam decided that it was necessary as a part of our social obligation that we should send a team for relief work. Shanti Hospital Punnayurkulam volunteered to join hands with IMA Kunnamkulam and it was decided to rope in the Punnayurkulam Panchayat also.
IMA Kunnamkulam in association with Santhi Nursing Home,Punnayurkulam, with the whole-hearted support of the people of Punnayurkulam, conducted a mega medical camp in the villages of Cudallore district of flood affected Chennai on Saturday, 12th December, 2015.
The team from IMA Kunnamkulam comprising of the secretary Dr Shaji P.S, the joint secretary Dr K.R. Mukesh, Action Committee member Dr Sugadoss and three paramedics from Santhi Nursing Home were flagged off at a public function held at Punnayurkulam junction by the Panchayat President Mr. A.D. Dhaneef and IMA Kunnamkulam president, Dr. C.P. Ravunnikkutty. Block Panchayat president Mr. A. Moosa, Merchants’ Association president Mr. Lukose Thalakkottoor and Addl. SI Mr. T.D. Jose spoke on the occasion. The team members were honoured with adorning of traditional Ponnadas.
The team held medical camps at Cuddalore for the Krishnan Kuppam village, Pantutty village and Kurinchipady village. About 1000 patients were examined and medicines worth about Rs 1,00,000, and dress materials worth 50000 were distributed
December 15th
Monthly General Body Meeting and CME was conducted at IMA House.
Dr Ajith Kumar Dean KUHAS was the Speaker .He has given an excellent lecture on Recent Trends in HIV and post exposure prophylaxis.This was followed by interactive session.
AMS Xray Quiz was conducted by Dr Tomy.
President congratulated the National award winners Dr Koshy George and Dr Saju for their achievements.They brought 4 awards to Kunnamkulam IMA at National Level:Best Local Branch,Best President,Best Secretary,Appreciation Award For AMS.
President congratulated the Chennai Relief Team of IMA Kunnamkulam for their dedicated work. Dr Mukesh captain of the team detailed about the camp.
IMA Kunnamkulam donated drugs collected from members and hospitals to Hemophilia society Kunnamkulam chapter to be used for Chennai flood affected population. Past IMA State President Dr K.V. Devadas handed over the drug kit to Sri Reghunandanan, President of Hemophilia society.
December 16th : Nurses Training Programat Shanthi Hospital, Punnayurkulam
Conducted Nurses Training Program about Neonatal Injections by Dr Mukesh, Joint Secretary IMA Kunnamkulam. He also took class about Safe Injection Practices in general.This program was conducted at Santhi Nursing Home,Punnayurkulam.
December 20th
President Dr. C. P. Ravunnikutty and Secretary Dr. Shaji P.S. attended Presidents and Secretaries training program at Ima House Thiruvanandapuram.Dr Ninan Kuthur senior member also attended the meeting.
On 20th December 2015 : Our immediate past secretary Dr.Saju.P.K, was awarded the Chairman’s Appreciation Award , during the National AMSCON 2015 Conference held Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
December 27th : Monthly medical camp
Monthly medical camp was conducted at IMA house. Charity Wing Chairman Dr Joshy Thomas headed the camp along with Dr Sameer Sulaiman, Treasurer
On 27th and 28th December 2015 : NATCON 2015
5 members from IMA Kunnamkulam attended NATCON 2015 , the Annual National IMA Conference held at Le Meridian Hotel ,New Delhi. Kunnamkulam IMA President Dr.C.P.Ravunnikutty, Secretary Dr.Shaji.P.S, Immediate Past President Dr.Koshy George, Immediate Past secretary Dr.Saju.P.K and Past President IMA KSB, Dr.K.V.Devadas attended the meeting.
During the conference IMA Kunnamukulam bagged the following awards which were given away by the National President Dr.A.Marthanda Pillai and the drug controller of India Dr.G.N.Singh.
The awards are
- N.S.Chandra Bose Award ,the most prestigious rotating trophy for the best local branch in medium segment , at national level.
- The Award for best adjudged President of a local branch ,at national level was awarded to our immediate past president Dr.Koshy George T.
- The Award for best adjudged Secretay of a local branch , at national level was awarded to our immediate past secretary Dr.Saju.P.K.
- President’s special appreciation Award to Dr.K.V.Devadas , for his dedicated service as secretary of National Pension Scheme.
December 28th : Kunnamkulam Town Development Seminar
Dr Ravunnikutty president attended Kunnamkulam Town Development Seminar hosted by Mathrubhumi Daily.He promised support from IMA Kunnamkulam in any Health Related issues and requested the authorities to take necessary steps to remove unwanted holdings and flex bills
which are interfering the drivers. This seminar was attended by various representatives from all fields and prominent figures of Kunnamkulam like Mr V K Sreeraman and Sri Kanippayyur Namboothiri.

Christmas /New year Celebrations on New Year Eve celebrated in grand style at IMA House.
Reception to National Award Winners
After the official formalities, a warm reception was given to National Award winners of IMA Kunnamkulam. Mementos were presented to Dr Koshy George, Dr Saju and Shameer Sulaiman by the President. Felicitation was done by Senior Member Dr Paul C Raphel. President congratulated Dr.Devadas (Past State President) for getting appreciation award from National IMA President.
Official release of PULSE our quarterly Bulletin was done by senior Physician Dr Jose .He accepted the copy from the Editor Dr Saju.
Christmas message was given by Dr Cheriyan Joseph.
This was followed by variety entertainments by the members and their families.
2pm: World Aids Day Program at Edakkazhiyur
A Rally for Aids Awareness at Edakkazhiyur was conducted by IMA Kunnamkulam in association with RP Health Mission and SSM VHSS. Dr Abdul Hakkeem took a Health Education Class on the occasion about the role of the community in support of Aids victims.
